Summer Camp
Frequently asked questions
Can I come visit my child while he/she is at camp?
We prefer not to have visitors during the week while camps are in session. If there is an emergency or special circumstance, please contact our camp office.
What medical services are available to my child while he/she is at camp?
Our camp has an on-staff doctor and 1-2 nurses available 24/7 during our summer sessions.
What time is pickup/drop-off?
Registration on Sunday begins at 3:00 pm. Pickup time on Sunday is 10:00 am sharp. PLEASE NOTE, sessions ending on Friday will also follow the 10:00 am pick up time. For safety reasons, campers will only be released to those listed on the authorized pick up list by parents/guardians at the time of registration. Please be prepared to present photo identification.
How long is a camp session?
Camp programs are one week in length, Sunday to Sunday. Please click here to see our summer camp dates & rates page.
Do we have to belong to a church to attend Frenda?
Absolutely not! Although we are a Christian camp and event centre, each year hundreds of children attend camp, with no church affiliation whatsoever. Our inclusive approach ensures that everyone feels welcome.
What do we bring to camp?
Comfortable clothing, sleeping bag, closed toe shoes, modest bathing suit, bug spray, flashlight, all the camp stuff! A complete list and guide is provided via email once you register.
What is your phone and tablet policy?
We encourage campers to leave these devices at home – it’s great to break free from the glowing screen for a week! However, we make accommodation for those who strongly wish to bring a device. The complete phone policy is available on our summer camp page.
Is your camp nut-free?
Because we serve a (delicious, amazing) vegetarian diet, we do not operate a nut-free camp. However, we have a very thorough allergy protocol in place, and our on-site medical staff is equipped to assist in our prevention and awareness program.
Is transportation available?
Yes! We have bus service from Oshawa and Toronto, and details can be found in the registration process.
Can I call or email with questions or concerns?
Absolutely. We welcome all inquiries, and you’ll always get a live person during business hours. If we’re on the other line, text or leave a voicemail on our camp line, and we’ll get back to you promptly. Email to office@campfrenda.com is also welcome.
